Scholarship and Financial Aid
For CGU master's and doctoral program scholarships, no additional application form is required. Students can indicate their interest in applying the sholarship in the Scholarship Section in the application form.

CGU Scholarships for International Doctoral Students (2023-2024 intake)
- The award (based on a 4-year maximum) includes:
- Monthly stipend: NT$30,000 (50% supported by advisor and 50% matching from CGU)
- Extra scholarship for outstanding students up to NT$12,000 per month (For Ph.D. students, the tuition fee will be waived from the third academic year, only pay for credit fee NTD$3,813 per semester.)
- Disbursement schedule:
Monthly stipend from CGU is disbursed in two installments: one during the middle of the semester and the other at the end of the semester.

- Monthly stipend: NT$30,000
Obtained one of the following certificates within five years prior to admission TOEFL ITP score 523 or above TOEFL iBT score 69 or above TOEIC score 700 or above IELTS band score 5.5 or above Foreign Language Proficiency Test (FLPT-English) total score 240 in the three written tests Linguaskill Business score 160 or above - Extra scholarship for outstanding students (alternative):

NT$7,000 per month: graduated from top QS 500 university in recent 3 years.
- Those who have not met criteria upon admission but meet them before the start of the second semester after admission may retrospectively claim the scholarships of the first semester, subject to scholarship quota. ( Fall admission: January 31, Spring admission: July 31)
【Post-admission】- Passing the evaluation from academic advisor
- Taking the required Chinese courses in the first year
- Passing the qualifying examination for doctoral candidacy before the start of the third year of study
- General description:
- The scholarship includes research assistantship supported by academic advisor and matching stipend provided by CGU. If academic advisor stop to support the research assistantships, CGU will also stop afford the stipend until students find the academic advisor who willing to support.
- Students who are awarded the scholarships must take one Basic Chinese in the first year.
- GRE Standard Test Administration fee can be subsidized one time for International students who have been enrolled at CGU. To apply for the GRE subsidy, Students must retake the exam externally before the start of the second semester ( Fall admission: January 31, Spring admission: July 31). Please submit your score report and receipt to the Office of International Affairs within one month after the exam ( Fall admission: the end of February, Spring admission: the end of August).
- The application, review of application and the award of scholarship are on a semester basis.
- Those who have not passed the qualifying examination for doctoral candidacy before the start of the third year of study but pass the retake within 6 months may retrospectively claim the scholarships of the fifth semester.
- No scholarship will be awarded to students studying beyond the normal study period of 4 years.
CGU Scholarships for International Master's Students (2023-2024 intake)
The award (based on a 2-year maximum) includes:
Scheme 1: fully sponsored by CGU
- Tuition Waiver: an amount equivalent to the tuition and miscellaneous fees or credit fees
- Free on-campus accommodation (quad room)
- Monthly stipend: NT$6,000
- Opportunity for extra monthly stipend up to NT$12,000 per month
Scheme 2: fully sponsored by both potential supervisor and CGU
- Tuition Waiver: an amount equivalent to the tuition and miscellaneous fees or credit fees
- Free on-campus accommodation (quad room)
- Part-time research assistantship: NT$6,000
- Opportunity for extra monthly stipend up to NT$12,000 per month
*The tuition waiver will only be offered after the potential advisor agrees to offer you the part-time research assistantship. Therefore, we recommend that you contact your potential advisor regarding the part-time research assistantship before the admission application ends.

- Attaining an overall average grade of 80% or above in each semester
- Scholarships include:

- Students who are awarded the scholarship, or grant, or both must take one Basic Chinese course in the first year.
- The application, review of application and the award of scholarship and grant are on a semester basis.
- No scholarship and grant will be awarded to students studying beyond the normal study period of 2 years.
- GRE Standard Test Administration fee can be subsidized one time for International students who have been enrolled at CGU. To apply for the GRE subsidy, Students must retake the exam externally before the start of the second semester ( Fall admission: January 31, Spring admission: July 31). Please submit your score report and receipt to the Office of International Affairs within one month after the exam ( Fall admission: the end of February, Spring admission: the end of August).
CGU Scholarships for International Undergraduate Students
International students who have been enrolled at CGU for more than one semester may apply. This scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic performance in the previous semester.
Taiwan Government Scholarships
There are scholarships offered by different government agencies of Taiwan:
- MOE (Ministry of Education) Taiwan Scholarship
- MOFA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) Taiwan Scholarship
- Application period:February 1 to March 31 each year
International students must apply for these scholarships via the nearest Taiwan Embassy or Representative Office in their home country. Taiwan Sholarship recipient cannot be in simultaneous receipt of any other award or subsidy from any Taiwan Government institution (organization) or any education institution in Taiwan.
Teaching or Research Assistantships
International students studying at CGU may apply for teaching assistant (TA) or research assistant (RA) positions and receive salaries as a way of funding.
Salaries:
- RA positions for students in master’s programs: NT$4,000 – 12,000 per month
- RA positions for students in doctoral programs: NT$8,000 – 24,000 per month
- TA positions: NT$8,000 – 10,000 per month
Accommodation Fee Reduction or Exemption
All international students studying in master's program(students on exchange or short-term visit are excluded) are eligible for fee waiver or reduction for accommodation in on-campus dormitories.
