Scholarship and Financial Aid (2022-2023)

Master's Program Scholarships for International Students (2022-2023 intake)

  • Number of places:25
  • The award (based on a 2-year maximum) includes:
    1. An amount equivalent to the tuition and miscellaneous fees or credit fees
    2. Free on-campus accommodation
    3. Monthly stipend: NT$6,000
    4. Extra scholarship for outstanding students up to NT$12,000 per month
  • Criteria:
  • 【Pre-admission】
    • Scholarships include:
      1. An amount equivalent to the tuition and miscellaneous fees or credit fees
      2. Monthly stipend: NT$6,000
    • Obtained one of the following certificates within five years prior to admission
      TOEFL ITP score 500 or above
      TOEFL iBT score 61 or above
      TOEIC score 650 or above
      IELTS band score 5.0 or above
      Foreign Language Proficiency Test (FLPT-English) average score 65
      Linguaskill Business score 145 or above
    • Extra scholarship for outstanding students:
    • GRE (Quantitative Reasoning) score Extra scholarship (NT$/month)

    • Those who have not met criteria upon admission but meet them before the start of the second semester after admission may retrospectively claim the scholarships of the first semester, subject to scholarship quota.
    【Post-admission】
    • Taking the required Chinese course in the first semester
    • Attaining an overall average grade of 80% or above in each semester
  • General description:
    • Master's Program Scholarships and Grants shall be awarded to a maximum of 25 students.
    • Students who are awarded the scholarship, or grant, or both must take Basic Chinese I in the first semester.
    • The application, review of application and the award of scholarship and grant are on a semester basis.
    • No scholarship and grant will be awarded to students studying beyond the normal study period of 2 years.

Doctoral Program Scholarships for International Students (2022-2023 intake)

  • Number of places:50
  • The award (based on a 4-year maximum) includes:
    1. Monthly stipend: NT$30,000 (50% supported by advisor and 50% matching from CGU)
    2. Extra scholarship for outstanding students up to NT$12,000 per month
  • Criteria:
  • 【Pre-admission】
    • Monthly stipend: NT$30,000
    • Obtained one of the following certificates within five years prior to admission
      TOEFL ITP score 523 or above
      TOEFL iBT score 69 or above
      TOEIC score 700 or above
      IELTS band score 5.5 or above
      Foreign Language Proficiency Test (FLPT-English) total score 240 in the three written tests
      Linguaskill Business score 160 or above
    • Extra scholarship for outstanding students:
    • GRE (Quantitative Reasoning) score Extra scholarship (NT$/month)

    • Taking the required Chinese courses in the first year
    • Attaining an overall average grade of 80% or above in each semester
    • Passing the qualifying examination for doctoral candidacy before the start of the third year of study
  • General description:
    • Doctoral Program Scholarships shall be awarded to a maximum of 50 students.
    • The scholarship includes research assistantship supported by academic advisor and matching stipend provided by CGU. If academic advisor stop to support the research assistantships, CGU will also stop afford the stipend until students find the academic advisor who willing to support.
    • Students who are awarded the scholarships must take Basic Chinese I and Basic Chinese II in the first year.
    • GRE Standard Test Administration fee can be subsidized one time for International students who have been enrolled at CGU.
    • The application, review of application and the award of scholarship are on a semester basis.
    • Those who have not passed the qualifying examination for doctoral candidacy before the start of the third year of study but pass the retake within 6 months may retrospectively claim the scholarships of the fifth semester.
    • No scholarship will be awarded to students studying beyond the normal study period of 4 years.
