Master's Program Scholarships for International Students (2023-2024 intake)
The award (based on a 2-year maximum) includes:
- An amount equivalent to the tuition and miscellaneous fees or credit fees
- Free on-campus accommodation
- Monthly stipend: NT$6,000
- Extra scholarship for outstanding students up to NT$12,000 per month

Obtained one of the following certificates within five years prior to admission TOEFL ITP score 500 or above TOEFL iBT score 61 or above TOEIC score 650 or above IELTS band score 5.0 or above Foreign Language Proficiency Test (FLPT-English) average score 65 Linguaskill Business score 145 or above - Extra scholarship for outstanding students:

General description:
- Students who are awarded the scholarship, or grant, or both must take one Basic Chinese course in the first semester.
- The application, review of application and the award of scholarship and grant are on a semester basis.
- No scholarship and grant will be awarded to students studying beyond the normal study period of 2 years.
Doctoral Program Scholarships for International Students (2023-2024 intake)
The award (based on a 4-year maximum) includes:
- Monthly stipend: NT$30,000 (50% supported by advisor and 50% matching from CGU)
- Extra scholarship for outstanding students up to NT$12,000 per month

NT$7,000 per month: graduated from top QS 500 university in recent 3 years.
- Those who have not met criteria upon admission but meet them before the start of the second semester after admission may retrospectively claim the scholarships of the first semester, subject to scholarship quota.
【Post-admission】- Passing the evaluation from academic advisor
- Taking the required Chinese courses in the first year
- Attaining an overall average grade of 80% or above in each semester
- Passing the qualifying examination for doctoral candidacy before the start of the third year of study
General description:
- The scholarship includes research assistantship supported by academic advisor and matching stipend provided by CGU. If academic advisor stop to support the research assistantships, CGU will also stop afford the stipend until students find the academic advisor who willing to support.
- Students who are awarded the scholarships must take one Basic Chinese in the first year.
- GRE Standard Test Administration fee can be subsidized one time for International students who have been enrolled at CGU.
- The application, review of application and the award of scholarship are on a semester basis.
- Those who have not passed the qualifying examination for doctoral candidacy before the start of the third year of study but pass the retake within 6 months may retrospectively claim the scholarships of the fifth semester.
- No scholarship will be awarded to students studying beyond the normal study period of 4 years.
CGU Academic Scholarship for Outstanding Students (Undergraduate Programs)
International students who have been enrolled at CGU for more than one semester may apply. This scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic performance in the previous semester.
Taiwan Government Scholarships
There are scholarships offered by different government agencies of Taiwan:
- MOE (Ministry of Education) Taiwan Scholarship
- MOFA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) Taiwan Scholarship
Application period:February 1 to March 31 each year
International students must apply for these scholarships via the nearest Taiwan Embassy or Representative Office in their home country.
Teaching or Research Assistantships
International students studying at CGU may apply for teaching assistant (TA) or research assistant (RA) positions and receive salaries as a way of funding.
Salaries:
- RA positions for students in master’s programs: NT$4,000 – 12,000 per month
- RA positions for students in doctoral programs: NT$8,000 – 24,000 per month
- TA positions: NT$8,000 – 10,000 per month
Accommodation Fee Reduction or Exemption
All international students studying in master's program(students on exchange or short-term visit are excluded) are eligible for fee waiver or reduction for accommodation in on-campus dormitories.
