Banking Information

Students over 20 years old are eligible to open a bank account in Taiwan. Chunghwa Post Co. Ltd. (Post Office) and Yuanta Bank are the financial institutes that cooperate with CGU (no service fee is charged if you receive money from CGU). Here is the information of the branches in or near the campus, and documents required to open a bank account:

  2. Passport
International Remittances: inward remittance can be processed in the CGU campus branch. Please see here for instructions. For outward remittance, you will need to go to other branches of the Post Office.

Remarks

  1. Money exchange service is available 24 hours at both Terminal 1 and 2 of Taoyuan International Airport. For more information, please visit here.
  2. For the currency in circulation, please visit Central Bank for more information.
  3. A stamp/seal/chop with your name on it may be required for opening a bank account and other banking services. You can get one for about NT$100 at any locksmith shop (there is one locksmith shop near Chang Gung Memorial Hospital).

EasyCardEasyCard

To make your living in Taiwan more convenient, you may get an EasyCard, which is an electronic value-stored card and can be used across most public transport systems, such as buses and MRT, and even convenient stores, supermarkets and other designated retailers.
