Study Grants Implementation Regulations for International Graduate Students (a.k.a tuition waiver)

  1. From the second semester onwards (or the third semester for the students admitted in 2017), the Office of Student Affairs shall conduct preliminary screening of the list of international students provided by the Office of Academic Affairs within three weeks after each semester commences.
  2. The list of international students who pass the preliminary screening shall be sent to every college.
  3. Each college shall establish“Study Grants Standards for International Graduate Students”.
  4. According to the rank order of eligible applicants, subsidy of each academic year is granted to successful candidates, subject to approved grant quota.

Important notes:

  1. Students will have to pay for the second semester onwards. The payment needs to be made within the first two weeks of each semester. The payment includes tuition fee, miscellaneous fee and insurance fee. The results of the review should be out by the end of the semeter and will be announced on Student Affairs Office's website (subject of the announcement is 外國研究生助學金).     
  2. Tuition waiver will be terminated in the following semester if students receive a Grade-B conduct score or a demerit in the semester.
