Health Certificate for Short-Term Students

Background and Regulation

According to the Ministry of Health and Welfare's regulation, international short-term students (staying in Taiwan for more than 3 months and less than 6 months; non-degree students) are required to submit the following document and do x-ray exam within 14 days from the day of arrival.  

1. Proof of Positive Measles and Rubella Antibody or Measles and Rubella Vaccination Certificates (page 2 of Health Certificate for Short-Term Students)

Situation 1: if you have already been vaccinated against measles and rubella in your home country and have the certificate of immunization, bring the English certificate to ROC Embassy/ Mission in your home country for authentication. The document needs to be notarized by the local government in your home country first.

Situation 2: if you have already been vaccinated against measles and rubella in your home country, but do not have any certificate of immunization, please do the antibody tests in your home country. Page 2 of Health Certificate for Short-Term Students needs to be signed by the doctor and authenticated by ROC Embassy/ Mission in your home country.   

Situation 3: if you've never been vaccinated, please have the vaccination before coming to Taiwan and bring authenticated vaccination certificate (English version) to Taiwan.

Please note that the above vaccination certificate must be authenticated by ROC (Taiwan) Embassy/ Mission in your home country. Before authentication, the documents must be notarized by the local government and authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of your home country first.

To avoid all the inconveniences of document authentication, you may choose to take the antibody tests within 14 days after arriving in Taiwan. Please notify CIAC if you choose to do the antibody tests in Taiwan, our office will make an appointment for you and the exam fee is NT$ 662 (including NT$100 for the certificate).

2. Chest X-ray for Tuberculosis Report (page 3 of Health Certificate for Short-Term Students)our office will make an appointment for you and notify you the details. The fee for X-ray is NT$610, including NT$100 for the certificate. If you willdo antibody tests and X-ray exam together, the total fee will be NT$1,172.
